As we kick off into winter with inevitable shitty weather in some shape or form, it becomes necessary to soothe our cold bodies with warm, groovy music. The kind of tunes that make you sway back and forth and move your feet a bit, soaking in the sultry synth stabs and comforting vocals.
Luckily, HARD put together a show with Bondax, a duo of specialists in exactly this kind of thing. Their unique mix of UK garage, post-dubstep, and down-tempo recalls similar artists like Disclosure, but toned down a bit for a sunnier, slower kind of jam. There’s a whole lot of atmosphere – their drums leave plenty of room for the often subtle, soft deep house/garage pads to breathe. With remixes from the likes of Justin Martin, they’ve done nothing but good this year.
The Roxy is a perfect venue for this as well – it’s an intimate, cozy theater that is very conducive to enjoying the music in a laid-back way.
Kingdom and Bones will be supporting – it’s sure to be a night full of sweet, sweet, sultry grooves.
