Casiotone for the Painfully Alone
0

Casiotone (a type of electronic keyboard from the 1980s) for the Painfully Alone, aka Owen Ashworth, has a artist name that says it all. It is music for the painfully alone, which– let’s be honest– is all of us at some point during our days, weeks, months, and life. I’ve never heard a musician bear his soul over a keyboard and drum patterns harder than CFTPA, and not in a whiny indie-band  kind of way, but in a ‘hey, I’m a big dude with a beard and life really fucking sucks sometimes’ kind of way. And for me, that really hits home. Every time I hear tracks like Young Shields I get goosebumps. His lyrics and sound are inventive and perfectly complement his gruff, emotion-filled voice. Simple drum sequences and weird Casio synths add to the overall feel.

This dude got me through some of the tougher times in my life, and I hope he resonates with you like he did me. Enjoy!
