This Thursday World Town will be hosting none-other than Diplo, along with Benzi and Trevor Simpson. World Town is one of the newest hosts for San Francisco’s premiere parties. In the last few months they have hosted Peace Treaty, Benny Benassi, Afrojack (my personal favorite), and many other legendary EDM producers and DJs. In the coming weeks they will also be hosting Hardwell and R3hab. Don’t worry, we will get to those as they approach.
Diplo (short for diplodocus) has been a favorite producer of mine since I discovered his music. Leaving his dad’s bait and tackle shop behind, he went on to study at Temple University in Philadelphia. After some social work, Diplo eventually linked up with M.I.A.,who he owes much of his current fame to. Nonetheless, Diplo had more than a name for himself. Like many other major DJs he started his own record label, Mad Decent, which now hosts more than a few of my favorite artists. I highly recommend the show, but if you aren’t local, don’t worry– World Town was kind enough to let us cover the event. Keep your eyes out for review+photo and more.
