Disco of Doom – Glimmer EP

Bad Life Records never seems to disappoint.  Their most recent release is from the UK based duo Disco of Doom.  The Glimmer EP is late night funky house with a touch of Mustard Pimp silliness.  The title song, “Glimmer,” is a percussion-driven, malarkey-inducing monster of a track.  ”Brown Acid” is not a B-side to skip over.  It’s got this gentle bassline that never goes anywhere (not to imply that that’s a bad thing).  Disco of Doom play with the interaction of the gentle rolling bass interrupted by sharp and aggressive horn synths.  The result is something smooth and hypnotizing.  Immerse yourself in this EP and slip into an alternate state of consciousness.  Forget about the 9 to 5 and focus on the 303 and 909 at 128.
