So I made a promise (quite some time ago) to a friend of mine that I would do a Whitest Boy Alive post for her. Now I’m not exactly sure if I was full of shit and was never really going to write the post, or if I was just being a procrastinator. Either way, I’m glad that I put it off for this long, as I just recently learned (thank-you Aaron!) of Erlend Øye’s (the lead vocalist/guitarist of Whitest Boy Alive) other projects.

Over the last few days I’ve come to this conclusion: Erlend Øye is musical bacon, you can put him on anything and he makes it better. His style feels organic in all the different ways that it’s heard. He jumps around from Folk-ish Acoustic-ness, to bass-y Electro, to Indie driving -ahem- biking anthems, and finally to the mysterious “131.”
