Feathers EP – Pelican Fly [EP Review]

For those of you unfamiliar with the label Pelican Fly, search no more. Pelican Fly is a record label based in Brussels, Belgium with an extremely diverse roster of artists. This roster includes the mind-blowing Sinjin Hawke, Zora Jones, Mister Tweeks, Richelle, Lucid, Cashmere Cat, and a few others who have released material on Pelican Fly. This past Monday, Pelican Fly released their latest EP “Feathers” with tracks from Richelle, Mister Tweeks, Samename, Deebs, Sinjin Hawke, Cashmere Cat, Lucid, and Zora Jones. Each one is unique to the artist’s talents, and all of them can easily serve as club heaters when thrown up on good speakers.

DMC World DJ Championships Finalist and 18 year old producer Cashmere Cat’s single Aurora debut’s as the first song off “Feathers” and boy does it KNOCK. Known for his soothing yet industrial vibes, Cashmere Cat continues to blur the line of what is sensual and bangin’.

My favorite track on this EP has to be Prom Nite by an artist who continuously blows my mind with every release: Sinjin Hawke. With one of the most epic intro’s I’ve ever heard, this song will have you mesmerized from beginning to end. The intro is vastly different from the actual climax, where Sinjin’s amazing pitch-changing and bass-knockin’ skills take center stage.

Mister Tweeks track titled Rave Land is, in my opinion, the most insane and ragin’ track on this EP. About 4 months ago a video came out previewing the wacky and spastic vibes of Rave Land, and I knew it was going to be BIG when released.

Check out the entire EP here. Definitely worth the buy. Don’t be the fool that over-looks the INSANE talents that make up the awesome label in Pelican Fly.
