Here’s some music that should be included in your soundtrack for summer. This producer from Sydney, Australia, was in fact an unexpected discovery of mine. The 20 year-old Flume, also known as Harley Streten, came to my attention at the perfect time when I’ve been listening to a grand amount of relaxing music in honor of summer. A fantastic and timely discovery, I would say. Flume’s tracks exhibit a kind of warmth that’s very fitting for the hotness that is this season. Their laid-back tempos calm the soul and the pulsating sounds enter your brain soothingly. I personally love how he messes with vocals and uses them as instruments, especially in Sleepless and HyperParadise. Maybe I just have a weak spot for instrumental music, so these “instrumental vocals” that Flume creates blow my mind every time I hear them.

The assortment of remixes, originals and “mix-ups” on his soundcloud are keeping me entertained for the moment, but I’m going to be craving for more very soon.

Sleepless (feat. Anthony For Cleopatra) – Flume

Paper Thin – Flume

Gravel Pit (Flume Remix) – Matt Miller x Kilter

Every Little Step (Flume Remix) – Junior Boys

It’s not always that a bright producer impresses me this greatly, so go and support Flume! If you’d like to see more of him in the future, check him out on Facebook, Soundcloud, and definitely purchase his tracks on Beatport!
