Illz is a new and upcoming rapper from New York. Born in Jarabacoa (La Vega Province), Dominican Republic and moved to the United States with his mom, in hopes for a better opportunity for her kid. He grew up alone not to far from the Big Apple, in a one room apartment, after his mother left to Miami, Florida. He definitely brings his own style and vividly represents his town throughout his music. With samples from DJ Coldcut, Krush, La Roux, Skream Remix, even Moscow jazz artist Rekevin he creates a soothing, vintage enchantment. The Pursuit LP is the perfect cure for those rainy day blues, without any question. It’s good ol’ easy listening rap, if there’s a such, if not now there is.
