Le Castle Vania [Identity Festival Artist Spotlight]
0

The Metropolitan Jolt is proud to be providing coverage for this year’s Identity Festival. We will be profiling artists performing in the lead up to the September 3rd date at the Shoreline Amphitheater.

Georgia native Dylan Elland a.k.a Le Castle Vania, has been professionally touring since 2006 and has been everywhere from Europe to Mexico to SF showcasing his heavy, sometimes disco-inspired electro beats. His appearance matches his tracks, and I know I’ve heard the word ‘riot’ associated with him and his music a number of times.

Singles like Nobody Gets Out Alive embody exactly what I’m talking about here. Even the robotic lyrics, both in style and content, perpetuate the image of a party so ridiculous and destructive that no one could live through the bass to tell about it the next day. This vocal style is used in a number of Le Castlevania’s tracks, including his remix of D.I.M’s Is You, another heavy yet danceable track that I cannot wait to hear dropped on the masses come Sept. 3.

At the pinnacle of Le Castle Vania’s production, in my opinion, is The Messiah. If Nobody Gets Out Alive preaches the truth about a Le Castle Vania show, this collab with The Computer Club is the reason. I have trouble describing this track, simply because the only adjective I can think of is HUGE. The main synth is chalked full of those low tones that us bass lovers crave, and I have no doubt it annihilates crowds everywhere – heres the proof.

Le Castle Vania will be spinning on the Dim Mak stage.
