As far as I’ve heard, the weather everywhere around the country is wonderful and this lazy Friday is shaping up to be as relaxing as we all hoped it would be. Today is a day to celebrate the chillest things in life, be it sitting in a field, going on a hike, or (we hope), listening to music. Cyrus and I have put together a fun, relaxing collection of tracks with flavors spanning hip hop to electronic to rock as a way to facilitate your musical experience on this holy of holies. My picks are the first ten of the mix – while there are some hip-hop influences, my choices are generally centered around dreamy, atmospheric, electronic music intended to give you a sensation of floating throughout the day. I wanted the mix to be as sunny as possible, and tracks like Viceroy’s Jet Life remix of This Plane embody the sun in the best way possible. Cyrus’ mix (the second 10 tracks) is also quite eclectic, combining his love for ’90s hip-hop and electronic music. Viceroy makes another sunny appearance with another Jet Life remix, this time of Biggie Smalls’ Going Back to Cali. Together, we’ve got one dreamy, sun-appropriate mix that’s sure to brighten your hopefully already bright day.
