[Monday Mixer] Dirty Minds

This week the Monday mixer is back home at Metrojolt. This your first week tuning in? A team of bloggers bands together every week and creates an eclectic mix of the host blog’s choosing. This week I choose “Dirty Minds”.

Chris @ dailybeatz

Pretty easy choice for me.  I remember I was in high school when this song came out, and I was shocked they were even allowed to play the “clean” version on regular FM radio.  It’s one of the filthier songs that ever got a decent amount of airplay back in the day.

Drop – Earl Sweatshirt

As soon as I saw “Dirty Minds” for the theme, Earl was the first to come to mind. I mean he’s rapping about raping women. “Dirty Minds” is just a euphemism for Earl’s lyrics. He pretty well wrote the book on dirty minds … next to Barney Stinson of course. Just wait for the last line of the song. Yup, I’m on the bandwagon, but aren’t you?

Starland Vocal Band – Afternoon Delight

I watched Anchorman this week and this song just seemed perfect for this playlist, even though it’s not the dirtiest lyrics. It’s such a sweet yet filthy song.

Notorious BIG vs The xx – One More Chance For The Heart To Skip A Beat

Doesn’t get much dirtier than Biggy, does get much better than laid down over the xx. Probably the best mash up album to circle the internet last year from Wait What. Nicely mixes the more subtle understated music with the full frontal words of BIG, who apparently stopped giving aural sex because it was too good. But don’t worry he has a fantastic dick.

Marc @ Umstrum

P.Nis – Gush

What could be more on theme than a song about a guy who has a “horny blues” and tirelessly asks his girl to “do him all night”?
I’m not even gonna talk about the title…

Marc @ Mostly Junk Food

Louis XIV – Paper Doll

Louis XIV, “Paperdoll” from Phil Mucci on Vimeo.

When I first heard of this week’s theme, “Paper Doll” by San Diego rockers Louis XIV was the first to come to mind. Named after a pervy French guy, it’s no surprise that the band was comprised of misogynist male chauvinists (we used to call this rock’n'roll). The excellent video stars the uber-sexy Karen Miller, slinking around in some undies to lyrical come-ons like ‘bang me like the girls in Hong Kong’ and ‘pull your skirt up a little bit, pull down your top and show me a little tit.’ I love the way lead singer Jason Hill says ‘tit’ I really would’ve expected him to be British. Louis XIV broke up in 2008 so there goes that, but we still have “Paper Doll” and Karen Miller surviving as their legacy.

TNT – Theophilus London

Theophilus London (real name) is heading to the top. His style is so his own. “TNT” is the kinkiest I’ve heard and it straight slaps. “You and me and he/ A short ride til three/ Stop rewind and let’s go again/ TNT on me.” I always knew he loved girls (you can hear the lust in his voice) but I wasn’t aware he was down for another guy to join in. Where I’m coming from, anything new is probably a good thing, so I’m down he’s down. Enjoy.

Xxplosive- Dr. Dre (Download .4a: here)

Will never forget driving threw the National Redwood Forest singing this with my best friend (who also happens to be a tiny Canadian) at full volume.
