Dave Nada and Matt Nordstrom = Nadastrom. This pair knows how to really lather on the bass while still keeping their tracks within the House and Dance Hall sound. It almost sounds like Major Lazer and Dillion Frances came together in some sort-of perverse DJ orgy and gave birth to Nadadtrom. Thankfully they left behind the ear rapping MC and daggering. When asked to describe his sound, Dave responded:
-Spinner, SXSW 2010Man, we’re club kids at heart, and we love making dance records. But our background is all over the place. Matt’s produced house and techno. I was coming up in the rave, punk, hardcore scene for years. With our sound, it’s club music with the energy and aggressiveness of Baltimore club music and punk. As far as the quality of our tracks, that’s what we pull for the drum and bass, the techno music. It’s gotta have that funky groove for people to get down to–some of that sleaze to keep people sweating
I’m particularly keen on their Pussy EP – What a name, right? Anyways, here’s a little sampler:
Here are some additional goodies:
P-Funk Skank – Udachi (Nadastrom Remix)
Save Us (Original Mix) – Nadastrom
