Pickle Patch Tour

The Tour is here:

This Friday (6.9), at 330 Ritch, a free show/party is going down that you don’t want to miss. I mean, it’s a free show at a great venue in a great city with a solid lineup. What more could you ask for? You need to get on the guestlist though: here.

Background:

Finally, a high quality tour featuring up and coming artists, with all shows reasonably priced at $5 or free. The Pickle Patch Tour, sponsored by LA-based record label Dim Mak and Scion (the car company which is using this opportunity to up its cool factor), is coming to a city near you with an interesting mélange of house artists, electro-pop vibes, a quasi-rapper and indie bands. The lineup, with its variety of musical styles, will make for a highly entertaining night of rave-like dancing, hipster swaying, and throwing up your hand to some electro-hip hop fusion by artist and producer Rob Roy. If you’ve got an eclectic taste, your night will be like walking around a musical candy store, but if your ears have only one G spot you’ll only enjoy some of the acts (tough, you should probably open up a little). Either way, the show is going to pull a big and avant garde crowd, which makes everything more stimulating.

Why “Pickle Patch?” Well, there’s a story behind that. Steve Aoki, who founded Dim Mak 15 years ago, was headquartered in Isla Vista (yeah, IV, the cesspool of UCSB) while he was in school at UCSB and his pad was called the Pickle Patch. It’s a return to grassroots promotion for low-profile musicians. Very trendy, fits right in with Dim Mak’s image.

You’ve never heard of any of the artists, unless you’ve really got your ear UNDER the ground (not on it, these artists are under the radar literally). So we’ve included some tracks here to whet your appetite.

Tracks:

420 – Autoerotique
Wonderland (Peace Treaty Remix) – Natalia Kills
K*M*A* (Original Mix)
Bubonic – Autoerotique
