In the word of Captain Haddock, “Subtropical Sea Louse”! Throw Me the Statue is an indie band out of Seattle, Washington. They signed to Secretly Canadian in 2007 and have released 2 full length LPs. I know all you readers have absurdly short attention spans, but try closing your eyes and listening to “Lolita” or “About to Walk” for two minutes. Shit, even 30 seconds. Throw Me the Statue can sneak up on you. Sure, their recordings might sometimes seem approximate or messy, but they possess a certain knobby-kneed charm. They’re back in Washington at the moment but make sure to catch them next time they’re in town.
