Volta‘s that techno artist that produces under the grid but still has a knack of releasing some of the most diverse productions and remixes out there. Hailing from Toronto and now moving to Berlin, the young artist has cemented his place within the techno community with a full repertoire of remixes ranging from Vuiton to Rob de Large. Remember his bumpin’ Mossing/Wasabi EP? Well, Christian Näthler is back again with a free remix pack for all you techno lovers. Wait no, let me say that again. This remix pack is completely free you guys, featuring remakes of popular tracks like Boys Noize’s ‘Nerve’, The XX‘s ‘ mesmerizing ‘Sunset’, and the title track of the package, a riveting rework of The Knife’s ‘Silent Shout’.
The package itself shows just how diversive Volta is as a producer. With the harsh, hard pressed driven synths in ‘Nerve’, Volta displays his ability to harness the energy in a Boys Noize production. Up next, Volta‘s remix of The XX’s ‘Sunset’ is a smooth-as-hell rendition of the popular track with laid back warm techno wisps along top smooth vocal chops. Probably my favorite off of the package, this remake sends you into a trance. Lastly, the title remix off of the package, The Knife’s ‘Silent Shout’, is a testament to Volta‘s production technique. With the vocals seamlessly integrated on top of tight-knit percussion with subtle distorted synth lines throughout the track, this remix is bound to crush some dance floors.
