Zen Approach [Cooler Heads Prevail]

What: A pure gold DIY mixtape released this month. Sounds like if Mac Miller had a degree from a liberal arts college and some appreciation of poetry, and then re-released K.I.D.S. Lyrical style shifts between rhythm and syllabic combinations to keep us chomping at the bit. A even-keel flow which is equally effective describing failed relationships and playfully describing the life of a 21 year old.

Poetic Justice – Zen Approach

Rap(oetry)/Lyricism by: Shaun Holt, 21 years old and studying communication and culture at Clark University.

Produced by: Holt’s friend and college mate Dylan Kreitman (I&B), with the exception of “High Up on a Friday” (produced by Holt). Instrumentals heavy on the string, horn, and wind sections.

21 – Zen Approach

Inspiration: Holt was in London for a few months and found himself. He started writing when he got back to the U.S. Writes most of his stuff at night when he is alone. Doesn’t like writing under the influence because it hurts his analysis of his writing.

Will probably be famous in 20 years for: Iconic mustache ; Coining the phrase “Take Your Swag and Pee on It”
